About Me

download resumé

Hi, I'm Sarah. I’m an experience designer, human-centered researcher, CMU Design grad, former architect, and aspirational painter. I am most happy when things are in order and make sense. My yellow lab puts the world into perspective for me and I live for warm sunny days, spirulina smoothies, Ashtanga Yoga, and trips to Southern California.

I'm a problem-solver at my core using design as an avenue to help solve people’s problems with more useful and delightful products and services. I ask a lot of questions, assume I know nothing, take the perspective of those with pain points I am trying to solve, and use that empathy to inspire new compelling ideas grounded and validated with consumer needs. I am also well-equipped with the tactical skills of design.

I currently work for Capital One Labs, where I'm helping incorporate Human-Centered Design and Lean Startup methodologies into the company's approach to creating forward-thinking financial experiences. I’ve spent the past 3+ years researching peoples’ attitudes and behaviors with money, leading the design process end-to-end, and launching multiple products in market with an intent to learn and iterate on the experiences we design. It’s incredibly rewarding to impact the financial industry at a potentially massive scale—and as a result, truly help people have better financial lives. I really love what I do.
